ABOUT QUIGLEY'S PARTY GAMES

Animal Farm

Contents

The game consists of a set of 6No. Party Game Cards, each of which show the picture of a different farm animal (cow, sheep, pig, horse, duck or dog) and top party tips.

How to Play

This party game is designed for small youngsters of all ages. Players are split into up to 6No. teams of up to 5-8 players each led by a team party captain. Each team is named after one of the farm animals which they have to find pictured on the Party Game Cards located about the house or garden. To add to the fun, players can only communicate by making the noise of their farm animal.

The winner of the party game is the team that returns all of their farm animals first to their lair or the greatest number in an agreed time. However, there are certain rules to obey on the farm:-

1. Only the captains are allowed to pick up the Party Game Cards and take them back to their lair. The captain is only allowed to collect one Party Game Card at a time and must remain in his lair until ‘called’ by his team players.

2. Team players have to find the animals and guard them till the captain arrives by covering them up with their hand or foot. They must then rush off and find the next card.

Preparation

Before playing, the Party Game Cards should be cut with scissors along the dotted lines so that each A4 page is separated into the requisite number of cards. 72No. pictures or Party Game Cards (i.e. two A4 pages) should be printed off for each animal. That means if you plan to have the maximum number of 6No. teams you will need to print off six different types of farm animals (i.e. 6 animals x 72No. Party Game Cards = 432No. Party Game Cards).

The Party Game Cards should be distributed about the house or garden by leaving them on tables, chairs and the like for players to easily find and pick-up. See Quigley’s Top Party Game Tips for tips in distributing the Party Game Cards.

Each team should be given the chance to practise the noise of their animal before the start of the party game i.e.:-

Cow = Mooo
Sheep = Baaaa
Duck = Quack, quack
Dog = Woof, woof
Pig = Oink
Horse = Neigh

End of the Party Game

The winning team of the party game is the first to collect all 72No. of their farm animals or the greatest number in an agreed time of say 20 minutes.

Matching Syllables - Places in England
Contents

The party game consists of 24No. Party Game Cards and top party tips.

How to Play

Each Party Game Card includes a separate syllable to a place located in England. Each name has three syllables. The objective of the game is for players to choose one syllable and then match it with two other syllables to complete a place name.
Example:-

ROCH + ES + TER = ROCHESTER

Once a player has made up a word they should take all three Party Game Cards to the MC for checking. The MC keeps the cards and records the players name on the answer card. The player then runs off to find another place name.

An alternative for small children is to place the answers card in a place which can easily be viewed by all the players after they have chosen their first syllable. The party game then becomes a race to make up the place names with players being able to refer to the answers cards at any time.

Preparation

Before playing, the Party Game Cards should be cut with scissors along the dotted lines so that each A4 page is separated into the requisite number of cards.

The Party Game Cards should be distributed about the house or garden by leaving them on tables, chairs and the like for players to easily find and pick-up. See Quigley’s Top Party Game Tips for tips in distributing the Party Game Cards.

The MC should explain that the first Party Game Card they may choose may be the first, second or third syllable of the place name. Party Game Cards may be exchanged with other cards about the house or garden or traded with other players if they prove to be useless to the players.

End of the Party Game

The end of the party game is when all the place names have been found by the players or after an agreed time (say 20 minutes).

The winner of the party game is the player who has found the most place names.
